Bi JunProfessor at Nanjing University, Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholar Program of the Ministry of Education, Member of the National Expert Committee on Ecological and Environmental Protection, Fellow of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Leader of the Innovative Research Group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Core Member of the NSFC Basic Science Center, Executive Dean of the Academy of Environment and Health at Nanjing University, and Executive Dean of the Academy of Environmental Planning and Design at Nanjing University. Previously served as Dean of the School of the Environment and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resource Reuse (Nanjing University).

Serves on the editorial boards of SCI/SSCI journals including Business Strategy and the Environment (Editorial Board Member), Blue-Green Systems (Associate Editor), Engineering (E-ditorial Board Member), Frontiers of Engineering Management (Editorial Board Member), ActaScientiae Circumstantiae (Associate Editor), Chinese Journal of Environmental Management (A-ssociate Editor), and China Environmental Science (Editorial Board Member).

Has long been engaged in research on environmental risk analysis and management, environmental big data and artificial intelligence, environmental health, climate change and carbonneutrality technologies, and environmental management and policy. Has led projects including the NSFC Innovative Research Group, National Key R&D Program of China, 863 Thematic Projects, Science and Technology Support Program, NSFC Key Projects, and UNEP-NSFC international cooperative projects. Has published over 400 papers/articles in journals such as Nature Sustainability, Nature Communications, Nature Food, PNAS, PNAS Nexus, Lancet Planetary Health, GEC, EHP, ES&T, WR, and China Environmental Science, and holds over 80  software copyrights and invention patents.

Awarded Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award (ranked first), six First Prizes of Provincial/Ministerial Science/Teaching Achievement Awards (four ranked first), three Second Prizes (two ranked first), and one Third Prize (ranked first). Has led or participated in the development of more than 30 environmental policies, standards, or decision-making recommendations.
