In response to the need for coordinated and targeted decision-making regarding deep emissions reductions at the regional and sectoral levels under the national “Dual Carbon” strategy, this research direction addresses the scientific question of how to strategically deploy end-use emissions reduction technologies. It explores integrated optimization methods for coordinated emissions reduction across sectors, regions, and technologies, with the aim of proposing regional and sectoral emissions reduction pathways and policy frameworks that balance industrial chain security, regional equity, and economic development.
