Liu Miaomiao is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of the Environment, Nanjing University. She is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and the Jiangsu Provincial Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars. She received her Ph.D. in Environmental Planning and Management from Nanjing University and was a jointly trained Ph.D. student at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council.
Dr. Liu has long been engaged in data-driven environmental risk simulation and assessment, with research focusing on big data analysis of environmental risks, health effect modeling, and risk transmission in supply chains. She has led multiple national and provincial/ministerial-level projects, including the NSFC Excellent Young Scholar Fund, NSFC General Projects, NSFC Young Scientist Fund, and Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation Excellent Young Scholar Fund. She has published numerous high-impact papers in internationally renowned journals such as Nature Communications, The Lancet Planetary Health, and Environmental Science & Technology. Her paper in ES&T received the 2023 Best Paper Award. As a major contributor, she has received the First Prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, Gold Medals at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions (2 awards), the Young Scientist Award of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and the Second Prize of Environmental Protection Science and Technology.
